CMPT, founded by 26-year-old political organizer and former child actor Daniel Valdes, found himself at a creative standstill a few months into lockdown. So, he posted a TikTok video looking for singer/songwriters to work with, and fate came knocking.

Like some cosmic destiny, Phoenix native Shantara Bird introduced herself with an infectious and empowering set of lyrics, a confessional she had been working tirelessly on.

"I Can't Do This Again" is the achingly vulnerable and poignantly melodic result of Shantara's tell-all songwriting and immersive vocals in tandem with CMPT's layered and unconventional production style.
